About Me

My photo
A little about me. In my normal life, I am a civil engineer who sits behind a desk everyday. I got married to my wonderful husband in 2006. Since meeting him and our many days of eating out and less working out, my weight started to creep up. In August 2007 my girlfriend wanted to get back in shape after her pregnancy. She talked me into running weekly with her. I agreed, and this began my plan to get my body back in shape. I wanted to add some additional workouts to my run, so I pulled out my old Slim in 6 videos. At the same time, I re-found the online message boards at Beachbody where I meet a lot of great people who kept me committed to my fitness goals. I also found a great coach who was there everyday to help me stay on track! Today, I'm still working to sculpt my body and get it into the best shape ever. As I have progressed through my body's transition, I decided to become an Independent Beachbody Coach to help others reach their fitness goals! I realized it was easier then I thought, and I really believe others can change their lives too!

Intensity!

Not all days can be brought with the same high intensity as the previous days.
Today was one of those days for me.  I was scheduled for one of my favorite workouts- Chest and Back.  But, I noticed from the first moves, I just could not get my body to crank out those push-ups and the pull-ups were even more sad.  It's like my energy just wasn't were it needed to be.  As I continued through the workout, I felt my shoulders popping with each move.
Normally, I would have finished my workout.  Even if I didn't push through with the same high intensity and energy as normal, I would have been able to check it off as a day complete.  Today, I decided that the popping in my shoulder meant my body needed to stop.  So, I did, but only with the X.
I did do about 5 minutes of ab ripper X then decided I needed a quicker more upbeat ab workout and did 6 minute abs by Debbie instead.  A also decided since I only accomplished 1 round of my chest and back workout, I would throw in some cardio with Turbo Jam live.    My body may not have had the strength and intensity to really bring it, but I still managed to get a full workout in today.  I did a round of my resistance, I completed my ab work, and I did a little extra cardio at a low intensity to finish off my night.
Not all days can be strong!  But, you should try and push through.  Once you are half way complete, you can usually get through to the end.  I decided not to risk injury.  With my body not agreeing, I decided to do something a little different.  It still counts as a day done and an X on my calendar.  My journal will be noted with low intensity day.  That just means, it's time to come back strong tomorrow.
