About Me

My photo
A little about me. In my normal life, I am a civil engineer who sits behind a desk everyday. I got married to my wonderful husband in 2006. Since meeting him and our many days of eating out and less working out, my weight started to creep up. In August 2007 my girlfriend wanted to get back in shape after her pregnancy. She talked me into running weekly with her. I agreed, and this began my plan to get my body back in shape. I wanted to add some additional workouts to my run, so I pulled out my old Slim in 6 videos. At the same time, I re-found the online message boards at Beachbody where I meet a lot of great people who kept me committed to my fitness goals. I also found a great coach who was there everyday to help me stay on track! Today, I'm still working to sculpt my body and get it into the best shape ever. As I have progressed through my body's transition, I decided to become an Independent Beachbody Coach to help others reach their fitness goals! I realized it was easier then I thought, and I really believe others can change their lives too!

Today will be a fun day!

I love meeting other people who are into living a healthy lifestyle!  Today is a day where a lot of coaches are going to get together to share ideas.  After that we will tell you our stories and why we became a coach.  Each one of us has a different story, a different why?  You can learn a lot, get a lot of motivation from other people and hearing their stories.  I've heard some great ones and how Beachbody really did change their lives.   One lady, was in the hospital bed, got diagnoses with Diabetes.  Was told she needed to be on meds for the rest of her life.  While in bed saw and infomercial for Turbo Jam and ordered it!  When she was released from the hospital, she started her workout program.  Eventually lost a ton of weight (ok, don't remember the details, but it was amazing), her doctors were so surprised at her results.  She no longer needs those medicines!  WOW, she now is a coach helping others!

I say it over and over, being a coach is about being there to inspire and help others get the results they want!  Beachbody has come up with the coaching opportunity to help people stay accountable.  To have someone there to answer questions, be your support!  When you do this for others, Beachbody turns around and rewards you with a check!

When I started this coaching thing, yes I was scared, nervous.  Would I be able to help?  Would I know the answers?  I wanted to do this and I wanted to do it full hearted and I wanted to do it right.  I honestly didn't care about a check.  I had (still do) work long days as an engineer building stuff.  But, the coaching thing was a way for me to do something more personal, more rewarding, more me!  It was my inner peace in the world of non-stop madness I seem to dealwith in the office.  Coaching, is so rewarding because it's a one on one bound you have with someone.  You see the results when someone gets closer to their goals!  You know you may have had a small part in the process, but that is what matters.  Having Beachbody pay me to see that smile on your face when you are down pants sizes, really is just priceless.

Now, what about my fears?  The fear of will I be able to answer questions, will I be a great coach?

Well, I've learned that as a coach, I'm never alone!  As with today's meeting and the huge coaching summit in March, coaches help coaches!  We talk, we share ideas, we are a support system that answers the questions that I may not know.  So together we are stronger then any individual!  Our goals are the same, to help others get healthy!  We don't fight, compete against each other.  We offer advice, ideas, support.

Also, I have learned that Beachbody does an amazing amount of training and support for their coaches!  They teach us about the products before they are released so we can be informed to tell you about them.  They teach us how to do sooo many things that again, the answers are hear for us.

This network of support is what makes being a coach so great.  Now, I have my team out there to help me help you!  I'm never alone, which means you are never alone!

I'd really love to chat with everyone about this opportunity!  It really is to me a once in a lifetime deal.  You only need $40 as a one time fee and $15 a month to have access to your store, the Beachbody support, your own website,....  And, you are officially a coach!  You can start helping people today!  You really have nothing to lose with this deal.  You are buying boatloads of products, you are handling money, you are just talking about programs that get results and offering support to others!  Also, if you sign up, decide its really not for you, you can cancel anytime!  But, 20,000 + coaches can't be wrong!

Now, today's meeting is in Silver Spring, MD.  I'd love to see you all there!

If you can't make it, join us tonight on a coaching webinar at

FIVE out of the SIX people whose names went in the hat for a live drawing were from my our downline.  (I was one of them!)  Who won? Josh Spence. (see his beach picture below!) He spent 7 days in Kevin's $2000/night condo all for doing what he does best: coaching people to fitness and helping them pass it on as coaches. If you are doubtful, ask Josh himself!

Kevin is bringing the contest back and it is BETTER THAN EVER because you have MORE THAN 1 CHANCE TO WIN!! Guys, listen up: OUR TEAM ROCKS. You can do this and I will help you any way I can.

CHALLENGE & CONTEST RULES:

Most Excellent Fit Doc Group Coaches:
Last year we did our first Fit Doc Group coach challenge and it really was one of the big things that started our team on its explosive growth path. Coach Josh won a trip to Cayman Islands!  So if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? Time for another growth spurt!

Announcing:  Doc's Great Summer Coaching Challenge!
Just like last year, the prize is great!  You and up to 4 guests will be my guest for 7 nights at the fabulous Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman - voted 2009 Luxury Travel Advisor - Best Luxury Family Resort in the World and 2008 Condé Nast Traveler - Readers' Choice Awards #1 Resort in the Caribbean.

This incredible private poolside 2,400 sq. ft. residence is exquisitely furnished with 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths, and a private patio overlooking a lush tropical garden, just a few steps from the pool and world-famous Seven Mile Beach.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, in the heart of Seven Mile Beach, is truly one of the finest resorts in the world. Among its features are Blue Tip, a world-class Greg Norman-designed golf course; Silver Rain, the first La Prairie Spa in the Caribbean; two restaurants by acclaimed chef Eric Ripert from New York's Le Bernardin; a Nick Bollettieri designed tennis program tennis with both clay and grass courts; the Ambassadors of the Environment Ritz Kids program designed by Jean-Michel Cousteau; and the incomparable service of the Ritz-Carlton.

The condo normally rents out for as much as $2,000 or more per night! But one lucky coach will stay on me for a week! Sorry, airfare not included (See below).

Contest rules:

The contest runs from June 6th through August 29th, 2009.
To qualify to win, you must:

1. Be a Beachbody coach in my downline.
If you are not a coach yet, what are you waiting for? Sign up with the person who showed you this!
If you got this as an email directly from me, then you are most likely in my downline.
If you are already a coach but are unsure if you are in my downline, shoot me an email(Kevin@TheFitDoc.com). I'll be happy to check for you. (If you are downline from Barbie, Rochelle, Heather, then you are downline from me.)

2. Talk to people.
Document that you've talked with 25 or more people about Beachbody products or coaching. Email does not count, it must be in person, over the phone, via Skype, or some other live verbal method of communication. You can initiate contact by email, but cannot count a contact until you've actually talked to them.

3. Build your business.
Personally sponsor two new coaches during the contest period. You and your 2 new coaches must all be active by the end of the day (Midnight Pacific time) on August 29th.
Achieving the above will give you an entry in the drawing for a trip-of-a lifetime to the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.

One coach will be picked to win the trip from all the eligible entries.

Chances of winning will be related to the total number of eligible entries. This is not open to all 20,000+ coaches in Team Beachbody. This is only to my downline- about 300 or so. Of that group, not everyone will qualify. In fact for last year's contest we only had about 10 eligible entries! Your chances to win will be phenomenal. You may never have such good odds for such a big prize again!

Stack the odds: Build your business bigger!
If you want to improve your odds even more, just add more coaches. After you meet the initial qualifications, every additional coach that joins your team will earn you one additional entry in the drawing.

How to enter:
Email me your list of at least 25 contacts with the date of contact for each person along with the names of all your active coaches who have joined during the contest dates (6/5-8/29). Email must be received by me before midnight Pacific on 8/29. Use this form if you like, or make your own. We'll do the drawing shortly after the contest ends- date and time TBA- live over the internet.

Last year's winner Coach Josh Spencer on Seven Mile Beach.

Could it get any better?
Of course. If at least 10 different coaches qualify for the drawing, with at least 6 coming from each of my left and right legs, I'll pay for your airfare! Up to $800. (Multiple entries in the drawing by the same coach only count as one coach for this purpose.)

Use this contest to help grow your business!
Use the contest as a conversation starter. Tell people that you are trying to win a trip to Cayman Islands. You need to talk to at least 25 people about this cool way to lose weight while making money at the same time.

This is also great opportunity for coaches to build their Beachbody business quickly. Every new coach you sign up is automatically eligible to enter the contest, too! The sooner they sign up, the more time they have to complete the eligibility requirements.

Other rules:
1. Don't sue me. By entering the contest, you agree not to sue me for any reason in the world (relating to this contest). Ever! I'm doing this as a benefit to my coaches. It is supposed to be fun and help you build your business. Not a source of stress and liability for me!

2. Don't wreck the place. This is my personal condo. Please treat it well!

3. Keep it clean. My condo is for sale. If you are the winner, staying there for the week, you must keep it clean and agree to allow my real estate agent in for showings if any are requested.

4. Since the condo is for sale, it might sell before you have a chance to stay there. If that is the case, I'll agree to put up 2 people at the Westin or Hyatt (my discretion) just down the beach. The odds of that, in the current real estate market, are pretty small.

5. If I get a renter during the time you are scheduled to stay, I may have to change your scheduled dates of stay or put you up at the Westin or Hyatt. Again, unlikely, but possible. please be flexible with me.

6. Travel will be at a mutually agreed upon date between Sept. 27 and Nov. 21st, 2009. I may be able to extend these dates, but I won't know until later in the year.

6. I may change or add rules at my discretion.

7. Don't forget rules 1 and 2.

Good luck!
-Doc

Is it possible?

I know I know, many of you that know me will say- yeah right, she doesn't do yoga!  Your right.  When it came time to do P90X, Yoga X, I had every excuse!  I often swapped it with Core Syn!  I just couldn't stand it.  I would start it and make it for 45 minutes, then just had to stop.   So, I just thought it was me and this, yeah I'm not really into it.  The whole, set your mind at ease,... What are you talking about!  My mind doesn't shut down long enough to get to the ohmmms!

But, I have really been trying to recovery from some shoulder injury- that I still have no idea how I did it????  But, since the pain is all up my back, shoulder, neck.  I just want to take a few light days and let it recover so I can go back strong.

Because I committed to that, but I also promised myself, no excuses!  I will get up at 5 am and workout all week!  So, as I said before, I was determined to do something and yoga was popping in my head.  I still have a hard time getting past the initial deep inhales with eyes closed, why because all I do is yawn and want to go back to bed.  But, after a few minutes, I am all into it.  I start off stiff and sore, and feel each leg, arm.... loosen up as the workout goes by.

What is making it extra special is my dear husband has been joining me the last few days!  Yes, I not only am getting him out of bed, without complaining and ON HIS OWN FREE WILL!  He is also WORKING OUT!  I am hoping that after almost 2 years of seeing me push play or go for  run or,.... it may actually be rubbing off on him!  He is already talking about P90X and giving it a try!

So, I sit here and ask, is it possible?  Is it possibly my husband will continue this streak with me?  And, is it possible I am finding a new love- Yoga.  This fountain of youth, is great.  Its got some strength moves, balance moves, some ab work.  And, it makes me sweat, so I feel like I'm doing more then just stretching.  And best part yet (yeah a lot of and's) its only about 45 minutes.  Just when I say to myself, I had enough- Tony is saying we are done!

Now that I have 2 new things happening in my life, I have said I will do yoga everyday this week!  But come Sat. I am already wondering what am I going to do next?  Another round of Chalean Extreme?  Or a new round of P90X?  Hmm, the choices are too hard.  I love Chalean and how short they are and how they really hit my "problem" areas.  But now I am thinking, take what I learned and see what that can do for me when applied to the X?

Ahhh, but how I love having so many choices.

Heather

As a Beachbody Coach, you too can have a great variety of workouts.  Coaches get 25% off all products.  Plus, you get the opportunity to buy the coaches start-up package.  That's 6 programs (Yoga Booty Ballet, Hip Hop Abs, P90, Slim in 6, Turbo Jam and P90X) for $299.  That's a $450 value for a great deal.  With all that, you have so many choices you never will get bored!

Weekly Coach Check In

Hey Coachees!

It's been a crazy week for me, so I'm hoping next week becomes a little down to earth!  I had to drive to Connecticut from Baltimore for my mother in law's 80th birthday.  Only to turn around and come home the next day.  So, let's say, missed workouts and ohh, just a little to much sweets.  But, it's a new week and I'll just jump right back into it!

I want to give a shout out to to a few peeps!

First to Joy!  She is in Phase 3 of round 2 of P90X!  Also mixing it up with some Turbo Jam and other fun stuff.  These are her words in an email to me.  "Overall, since starting the P90X rounds I've lost 4 in in the hips and 5 in my waist....I'm really noticing the belly going down!   Everyone is finally noticing now, I'm getting compliments everywhere..."  Ok Joy, I'd love for you to share some before/afters to inspire others.  But, no worries.  Girl, I'm proud of you!  Keep up the great job!

Next, is to one of my coaches - Randy!  He's still bringing it - he is now on round 3 of P90X!

Then there is Macy!  He just got back from a trip to the Dominican Republic where he looked hot, I totally different man then a year ago!  He is now moving into Chalean Extreme after a few rounds of P90X and having miss Chalene J. give him a little kick in the rear!  Burn Interval kills us all, so no worries, you will get be whipping it out soon enough!

I'm sure there are others, I'm just a little behind this week!  But, I'd love to hear your story, I know a lot of you out there are getting incredible results, so share away!

Ok, here is my information for the week.  I want to talk about the dreaded word, Plateaus!  We all go through those phases where we seem to eat right, workout yet the scale never seems to move.  We just seem stuck in the dreaded hole.  Often time, we get frustrated and really want to quit.

So, a plateau is when our body seems to start to get use to what we are doing.  It's use to the same foods we fuel our body with, it's use to the same moves we do.   Our body is settling to do the routine, its use to the stamina it needs to get it done, but its not really pushing anymore to really work you!  Now, for some, that may be a maintenance phase, and staying the same is a good thing.  But, for many of us, that stuck feeling is so annoying!  We just want more results.

So, now I'm going to ask or mention a few things I really want you to look at.  These few things could help you break that plateau.

Are you eating enough???  If you eat like a bird, you probably are not giving your body the fuel it needs.  If you do not eat enough food, you could actually put your body into a starvation mode.  This is where it wants to store the body fat you have because it doesn't know when it will get more food!  So, eating 5 times a day and eating enough calories, will help your body say- hey, I know food is coming, I don't need to store this fat, I can burn it away!

If you are not eating the right foods, you again are not doing the body good.  Right foods being, lean protein, veggies, healthy carbs, not fats, sugars, carbs,...  Remember, right foods fuel your body, give you energy!  Wrong foods can make you more tired, leave you still hungry, and not give your body the nutrients you need to to build those muscles!

If you don't know how much you should be eating or what you should be eating, I will highly recommend you join the Million Dollar Body Club!  It has tools to tell you exactly how many calories you need to eat with your workout program to get the scale to go down.  It also will help give you a full menu for the entire week!  It includes your snacks, meals and even better will give you a printed shopping list!  So, no more guess work!  It's a simple way to look, learn what you should be eating!  The club costs $2.99 a week (billed at $38 or so quarterly) and can be canceled anytime.   If you are not a club member, then really take the time to read the books that came with your program.  They have some nutritional guidelines to help get you started.

The other thing, I briefly noted above.  When do you eat?  Are you eating 5 times a day.  That means spreading out your meals, not doing what I always did.  I would skip breakfast, no snack and just have a huge lunch followed by a huge dinner!  So, if you starve all day and eat large portions, that is not a healthy way to eat!  Also, we all have bad habits.  Some of us are those that eat from boredom or late night snacking!  Habits are really hard to break!  Therefore, you need to find a way to re-direct your boredom (maybe workout, read a book, play with the kids/dog,..)  For late night snackers, stop buying the stuff you tend to nosh on!  If its cookies as your downfall, don't buy them.  If you need something, replace it with something like grapes!  A healthy alternative.  And, work on slowly making bad habits into better choices!

Remember  a rule of thumb- eat 5 times a day.  And, to keep you feeling full longer- make sure its 15-24 g. of lean protein in each of those meals.  For example, if you eat a large salad with lots of veggies, you will be hungry again in no time without any protein!  So, throw some chicken in there and you will feel so much better for longer!

Finally, your body gets use to the same movements.  So, if you are doing the same workout all the time, you will start to see a plateau.  This is why P90X or Chalean Extreme are good programs.  You change how you work the same muscles every 30 days!  That keeps your body guessing, and slows down that plateau.  But, if you have done multi-rounds of P90X, then again, you may hit the big P!  So, mix it up a little.  Maybe go for something different.  If you are a P90X'er, then try Chalean Extreme, or vise versa.  Or, add in some One on One workouts.  Or go totally extreme and do some Turbo Jam or Hip Hop abs just to mix it up!  Throw your body into a shock and say, hey I'm going to really challenge you today!

So, I know this got a little long, and I apologize.  I just hear over and over, I hit a plateau and I'm not seeing the results I want.  I also hear- I can't eat that much food!  Well, if you are saying I can't eat that much food, I want you to really look at what you are filling your body with!  Are they the healthy choices that keep you full for longer?  Or are you filling it with high fat, high sugar, high sodium foods that "fill you up" in the short term but don't fuel your body?

Now, ask yourself?  Are you getting the results you want?  If not, let's figure out why?  If you need help, then email me and maybe we can walk through your stalls and get them resolved so your body becomes a fat burning, muscle building machine!

in a funk?

I know, we all get in a funk where we just really don't want to work out. If that funk only last a day, and we just get up and do just do our workout the next day it's really not the end of the world. But, if that funk continues, they we start to fall of our little path of success. This is having someone to check in on your progress and ask how you are doing really pays off. It keeps you focused on your goals, it gets you back on track. It's just a plain old person there who is ready to kick start you and get you out of that funk.

So, if you are one of those people starting to slide further and further away from your routine, now is the time to get a coach! Have someone there to support you and get you back on track. It's simple to sign up, just complete the form by clicking here. If that does not work, just drop me an email at

whywait08@gmail.com

Remember, signing up and having me as a coach is free. So, what are you waiting for, it's time to get out of that funk and to start BRINGING IT!

Why do I need a coach?

As a coach, I will be there every step of your journey.  I will be there to cheer you on when you have made the little accomplishment (putting that cookie aside verses eating it).  I will be throwing parties when you make the bigger goals (like hitting a milestone in your weight loss, or fitness achievement.

I will also be there to offer support.  Need advice on nutrition, you can ask, need advice how to find out why you are not progress, just ask.  Sometimes having someone else to talk and ask questions are what you need to succeed.  We tend to block the things we really don't want to see, or just not admit it to ourself.  But, when you have someone there asking you about it, you can think about the choices you make and see the right path.

As a coach, I can also find you should start to fall off the wagon.  When one missed day becomes 2 and 2 becomes 3 and all of a sudden a week goes bye and bang, you haven't worked out.  I will be there reaching out to you so I can pull you back on the wagon.

Having a coach to be there for you is just another bonus to help you achieve your goals.  So, why not take advantage of it.  You can sign up now for me to start coaching you, it's free so what do you have to lose.  Remember, once you sign up you must email me first, I can not make the first contact.

I'd be honored to help you reach your fitness goals.  Just drop me an email, and we can start today!
