About Me

My photo
A little about me. In my normal life, I am a civil engineer who sits behind a desk everyday. I got married to my wonderful husband in 2006. Since meeting him and our many days of eating out and less working out, my weight started to creep up. In August 2007 my girlfriend wanted to get back in shape after her pregnancy. She talked me into running weekly with her. I agreed, and this began my plan to get my body back in shape. I wanted to add some additional workouts to my run, so I pulled out my old Slim in 6 videos. At the same time, I re-found the online message boards at Beachbody where I meet a lot of great people who kept me committed to my fitness goals. I also found a great coach who was there everyday to help me stay on track! Today, I'm still working to sculpt my body and get it into the best shape ever. As I have progressed through my body's transition, I decided to become an Independent Beachbody Coach to help others reach their fitness goals! I realized it was easier then I thought, and I really believe others can change their lives too!

Couples Yoga!

Today I was still quite sore from my last 2 days of really leaving all that I had on the mat with the Plyo Leg and then Total Body +.  I really felt every muscle, arms, chest, back, butt,....  I think I needed something to help ease that soreness.

Then last night my husband, who also had a rough week stated he was really sore.  He said, I'd be willing to try some of that yoga with you!  (all I heard was - I'm willing to workout with you.  And he wants to do one of my least favorite workouts, YOGA!)  So, I then proceed to say, I'd love to do yoga tomorrow.  Being as sore as I am, it would be a wonderful workout!  But, I want to warn you, it's gonna be long (an hour and a half).  And if you start it, you can not make some excuse half way through and quit!

This morning, he stuck to his word!  We both did Yoga X (one of the P90X routines).  We went through all the downward dogs, runners pose, warrior 1, 2 and 3.  We kept chugging through.  He did really well.  Then we hit Warrior 4 which requires more flexibility and balance.  We both seemed to struggle with that one.  After that though, it seemed to get easier.  Ok, so the next section was all balance poses and I almost landed on my face for the crane, but we tried and did a fairly decent job holding the poses.  The part we were waiting for the most, was of course at the end.  That was all the stretching.  Boy, did that feel wonderful.  My butt, my back, my shoulders, my arms all are thanking me right now for taking today to do a little yoga!  It definitely helped loosen me up!

Now that I know I can do it and really stick it out to the end, and now that I can say I really do feel better for doing it.  I really need to focus on getting it into my rotation and getting it complete!  And maybe next time, I can have a partner again.  Here's to hopes and dreams that my Michael will join me again!
