About Me

My photo
A little about me. In my normal life, I am a civil engineer who sits behind a desk everyday. I got married to my wonderful husband in 2006. Since meeting him and our many days of eating out and less working out, my weight started to creep up. In August 2007 my girlfriend wanted to get back in shape after her pregnancy. She talked me into running weekly with her. I agreed, and this began my plan to get my body back in shape. I wanted to add some additional workouts to my run, so I pulled out my old Slim in 6 videos. At the same time, I re-found the online message boards at Beachbody where I meet a lot of great people who kept me committed to my fitness goals. I also found a great coach who was there everyday to help me stay on track! Today, I'm still working to sculpt my body and get it into the best shape ever. As I have progressed through my body's transition, I decided to become an Independent Beachbody Coach to help others reach their fitness goals! I realized it was easier then I thought, and I really believe others can change their lives too!

Week 2, Day 1 of the New Year's Challenge!

Ok, the challenge continues!  We are now into week 2!  I have to tell you, I have been doing all these different workouts over the summer.  Mixing it up with Tony One on One, P90X plus, P90X, slim in 6,...  I just enjoyed my summer.  I did try and do at least 4-5 workouts a week, or more.  I did half my workouts with resistance.

But, I have to say, P90X did it again this past week!  It managed to kick my butt.  I can not believe how sore I am!  I know that I pushed myself!  Determined to do my best and keep it at least where I left off, if not challenged myself more!  (a few extra push-ups, heavier weights)

I was sore everyday from every workout!  I had my rest day yesterday (Tues.).  Its been 3 days (Sunday) since legs and back and my butt still says, no don't sit down!  I did kenpo 2 days ago (Monday), and I felt my triceps from the workout I did last (Thur.) what 4 days earlier!

Needless to say, my back, arms, butt, legs are all still saying- WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO TO ME!  I was praying this morning that a miracle would arrive and take away my sore back/arms before tonight's Chest/Back/Abs workout.  No such miracle appeared.  I was still feeling every muscles.  I did not let that stop me!  I went pushed play, and did as many as I could!  I did more of most moves then I did last week!  I did the all as clean as possible.  I pushed a little harder.  I did the as many pull-ups with an unassisted negative for the first few, then added the chair to punch out a few more.  I did all my push-ups from the toes for as many as I could, then went to the toes!  I got as low as I could on those dang declined and dive bomber push-ups!  I really did BRING IT today!

All the while, my husband sat on the couch watching Batman.  Or, probably more watching me workout!  But, he kept going, dang girl, you are doing some hard push-ups.  Not no easy ones going on there, and you look great doing them!  I was like, yeah, this is the X baby!

I just hope my muscles calm down a little.  The recovery drink every night with a shot of glutamine is not doing enough!   Am I complaining, not in the least bit!  I want to look great by New Year's, so I'm just going to shout out to Tony- BRING IT ON HON!  (Ok, I live in Baltimore- have to say hon!)
