Hope you are all enjoying your spring. Remember, nice warm days are a great way to take your fitness routine outside. Enjoy a walk in the park, a swim, or maybe do your yoga in the yard.
My newsletter picture of the day, is just to give you a friendly reminder, that we all need rest days! Don't skip your rest day in the week, it's important to give yourself a break and recover. Also, if you completed a program (P90X, Slim in 6,...) allow yourself a light recovery week before you start a new program/rotation. I know when I did P90X, I often saw a lot of changes in the recovery week between phases. Your body needs a chance to recovery, so please don't forget a little time for lighter days.
As for my routine, I decided after completion of Phase 1 of Round 2 of Chalean Extreme, I needed to change it up. I was missing Tony and his crazy comments. I have restarted P90X! I'm officially on Day 2. So, if anyone is out there thinking of starting, I'm here for you! I've also decided I'm throwing in a little One on One DVD's for variety. For example, Fountain of Youth Yoga, verses Yoga X (mainly since F of Y is a heck of a lot shorter, and works better with my pre-work workouts.) I'm also going to add in some Plyo Legs to add variety to Plyo X days. These are just a few ways I'll be mixing it up.
I'm going to dedicate the next few blog posts to giving you tips to help you get through a P90X workout. This program is do-able! If you can pass the fit test (a link is on my blog), you can do the program. Just like any of the programs, remember to push pause when you need too and go lighter or modify where you have too! You will improve with time, so don't let this program scare you! And, yes, women, you too can get in the best shape ever w/ P90X!
