Everyone keeps saying that muscle weighs more than fat. Well, above is a picture of 1 pound of muscle (red) verses 1 pound of fat (yellow). As you can seem, the amount of fat takes up a lot more volume then the same amount of weight as the muscle. The fat also is lumpy and gross compared to the muscle.
I'm showing you this comparison to help you realize that this is why our scales lie! As we work out and tone up to build our muscles, those muscles will help eat away our fat. (Muscles speed up metabolism which helps burn fat.) As you can see from the picture above, the fat is denser and cleaner looking then the fat is is replacing, but it does weigh more than that you are losing. So, as our bodies get smaller, tighter and less giggly, and our cloths get looser, our scales can tend to stay the same!
This is a good thing though. Overall we want a higher muscle to fat ratio. You may not be at a plateau, your body still may be transforming- its just not showing on the scale.
So now, keep bringing it and building those muscles! By building those muscles which are helping to eat the fat, you will get smaller and leaner! Just pay attention to how you look, how your cloths fit, and how your measurements change! Now, go throw away your scale!

The muscle vs. fat visuals are helpful. I totally get it now.
It definitely helped me understand why I have not lost anymore weight since starting Turbo Jam.
