About Me

A little about me. In my normal life, I am a civil engineer who sits behind a desk everyday. I got married to my wonderful husband in 2006. Since meeting him and our many days of eating out and less working out, my weight started to creep up. In August 2007 my girlfriend wanted to get back in shape after her pregnancy. She talked me into running weekly with her. I agreed, and this began my plan to get my body back in shape. I wanted to add some additional workouts to my run, so I pulled out my old Slim in 6 videos. At the same time, I re-found the online message boards at Beachbody where I meet a lot of great people who kept me committed to my fitness goals. I also found a great coach who was there everyday to help me stay on track! Today, I'm still working to sculpt my body and get it into the best shape ever. As I have progressed through my body's transition, I decided to become an Independent Beachbody Coach to help others reach their fitness goals! I realized it was easier then I thought, and I really believe others can change their lives too!

Not all days are created equal

I have been doing super good at getting my butt out of bed every morning and working out at 5:15 am.  Its funny, my husband has a tendency to occasionally fall asleep on the couch at night, and the living room is claimed my workout room come the morning if he is sleeping on the couch or not!  He just gets up and crawls in bed, and I move forward and push play!

But, today, I just did not have the energy to do Burn Intervals from ChaLean Extreme.  I tried.  But, I was no where near where I wanted to be for my intensity.  At about 20 minutes left of the 45 minute workout, I finally gave up.  It just wasn't happening.

After a hard and very tiring day at the office, I came home and immediately knew I wanted to do my workout!  I felt I had that energy I was missing.  So, I popped the video in and decided to really bring it!  Yes, I repeated the first 20 minutes that I did this morning.  But, this time I had a ton of energy!  Was jumping around.  I was at a 10!  Ok, so maybe those burpee's really kicked my butt, and those tricep work with 5 lbs was a little bit of a screamer.  But, other then that I was into and flying!  It was easy 500 calories burned in 45 minutes!

So, not all days are created equal.  Some days we may get up and have all the intentions to push play, bur for whatever reason our bodies just say- not happening!  But, does that mean you need to give up?  No!  If you have time to come back later and really bring it, you will feel so much better!  You will be amazed how your mind works, as you rush through a day with no time to do anything, you will look forward to taking some frustrations out on that workout!

My moral, if you can do a workout, do it!  Bring it with all the intensity you can throw at it.  If you are having a bad day, still push through if you can!  Some days, our body needs a little break and can't be at a 10, but maybe a 5 is all you have and that is still better then not doing it at all.  And if for some reason, you really can't pull it together at all, just put it aside, but try and find some extra time to squeeze in a good workout a little later in the day.  You may be amazed how much energy you have later!

Here's to your workout!
