About Me

My photo
A little about me. In my normal life, I am a civil engineer who sits behind a desk everyday. I got married to my wonderful husband in 2006. Since meeting him and our many days of eating out and less working out, my weight started to creep up. In August 2007 my girlfriend wanted to get back in shape after her pregnancy. She talked me into running weekly with her. I agreed, and this began my plan to get my body back in shape. I wanted to add some additional workouts to my run, so I pulled out my old Slim in 6 videos. At the same time, I re-found the online message boards at Beachbody where I meet a lot of great people who kept me committed to my fitness goals. I also found a great coach who was there everyday to help me stay on track! Today, I'm still working to sculpt my body and get it into the best shape ever. As I have progressed through my body's transition, I decided to become an Independent Beachbody Coach to help others reach their fitness goals! I realized it was easier then I thought, and I really believe others can change their lives too!

Baby on the Way

Ok, so you have a bay on the way, that means it's time to cut back on your P90X workouts (or whatever hard core workout you do to stay in shape.)  But, you just have that need to do something, what on what can get rid of that itch?

A friend of my had been telling me just that the other day.  She then mentioned, maybe she should do a little yoga to just do something.  Which reminded me of the Baby on the Way, buy Teigh McDonough from the Yoga Booty Ballet Series.  I pointed her to this workout, and she said she was going to order it and try it!

I just spoke to her, she loves the program.  It's perfect for her.  She aid it is not just yoga, it has a little light weight resistance work and some fun cardio moves.  She said everyone in the video is between 25 and 32 weeks pregnant themselves, so you feel comfortable doing the moves with them.

I want to copy her email to me on this, because she does recommend I pass the word on to those mommy's to be that are looking for a good workout.

Heather-

Just wanted to let you know that I started the Baby on the Way routine today and I love it!! I will strive to do it daily. I am 25 weeks and I was very comfortable during, but I did feel a little sore afterward as though I got a good workout too. I am so happy with it and would recommend it for all expecting Beach Bodies :) Thanks again for the recommendation!

Sincerely,

Stephanie

A Healthy You for a Healthy Baby

Studies have increasingly shown the importance of a regular fitness routine during pregnancy. Not only is it good for your heart and muscles, but it can help relieve some of the unpleasant side effects of pregnancy, like morning sickness, aching back, fatigue, and constipation. Some studies have even shown that being in good shape can reduce your time in labor. It can also help with weight control, so that you can keep in shape without depriving your baby of nutrition.

Yoga Booty Ballet's Teigh McDonough recently gave birth to a healthy baby boy. During her pregnancy, she used her years of fitness training and expertise to develop Baby On the Way, a workout designed specifically for expectant mothers. Using gentle, effective techniques, including yoga and stretching, Teigh helps mothers-to-be prepare their bodies and minds for the amazing experience to come.

A Letter From Teigh

My gift to all mothers-to-be.

There is nothing that more perfectly embodies the goddess than the process of pregnancy and being a beautiful mother. With Baby On the Way, you will care for each new curve in your body. In just 30 minutes a day, you can keep your body strong, limber, and toned during your pregnancy. I will help you gently warm your muscles and lead you through a cardio and light resistance routine. I will then take you through stretches designed to ease you through your body's natural changes.

Staying fit during your pregnancy is not only important to feeling good, it's beneficial for your baby's health and your swift return to your pre-pregnancy figure.

Set your natural worries aside and have glorious fun as you gently dance with grace and ease—doing fluid moves that feel good with a bit of fun in the Funky Mama March and Solid Gold—and finish with focused, stress-busting meditation.

Enjoy your journey into motherhood. Love your baby. Love yourself. You are blessed.
