A little about me. In my normal life, I am a civil engineer who sits behind a desk everyday. I got married to my wonderful husband in 2006. Since meeting him and our many days of eating out and less working out, my weight started to creep up. In August 2007 my girlfriend wanted to get back in shape after her pregnancy. She talked me into running weekly with her. I agreed, and this began my plan to get my body back in shape. I wanted to add some additional workouts to my run, so I pulled out my old Slim in 6 videos. At the same time, I re-found the online message boards at Beachbody where I meet a lot of great people who kept me committed to my fitness goals. I also found a great coach who was there everyday to help me stay on track! Today, I'm still working to sculpt my body and get it into the best shape ever. As I have progressed through my body's transition, I decided to become an Independent Beachbody Coach to help others reach their fitness goals! I realized it was easier then I thought, and I really believe others can change their lives too!

Time to Get Insane with Insanity!


Ok, so I finally decided to try Insanity! I was dying to do this program when I was training for my marathon, but everyone said no- it's a little intense, just wait! So, I was a good girl and listened.

Last Sat. I did the Fit Test. It was a series of moves that you do for a set amount of time. You count each rep. Then, you keep this on record, so in 2 weeks you can do it again and see your improvements. All I can say was I felt like jello after then 20 minute or so Fit Test. I knew that meant the workout would be umm, hard!

I have now completed 1 week and want to give you my thoughts/comments!

First, I am in LOVE again. This program is amazing! Beachbody has done yet another great job on the whole package. It comes in this package that looks like a hard cover book with all your DVD's, calendars and an incredible meal planning (nutrition) guide. I love all the samples of what to eat and when! Again, they take the guesswork out of how to maximize results!

Basically you start the program with a 3 minute warm up. It includes jogging, jumping jacks, high knees, butt kicks, just to name a few. Not your typical warm-up. But, my heart was pumping. I thought ok, not to bad. Only to realize you have to do 2 more rounds of this set and each round gets faster! Yes, round 3 is like super fast! (Interval training to the MAX!) But the end of the 9 minute warm up you truly are done and dripping wet. You move into a stretch section thinking, it's the cool down only to look at the clock and realize you have 20 more minutes!!!!

As you move into the workout, you continue to do a set of moves. All high intensity, and most high impact! The moves include jumping hurdles, Heisman's, power jacks, on resistance days its all body resistance like V-push-ups, normal and moving push-ups, dips,.... You are working your core the entire time! You do each set 3 times and each time you go faster then the last round! At the end of all 3 rounds you get a rest (very quick one), and you are back into the next set!

To tell you how hard you are working, they were kind enough to put the clock there that reads the milliseconds fly bye. As Shaun T says only 4 seconds left, you have to push and DIG DEEPER to go and go and go. Those 4 seconds seem like an eternity!

All I can say, this workout is definitely incredible! The music gets your heart pumping and pushes you harder with each set. The people in the video are real! They too must stop for breaths/water. At the end of the sets don't be surprised to just see them drop to the floor in as much pain as you!

You will have to push yourself to a whole new level with this workout! I say if you are into any kind of sport, this program will take you to a whole new level! If you love cardio, then you will LOVE this program!

I'm done with week 1 and am already feeling stronger and feel like that excess tummy flab seems to be shrinking! I can't wait to see what the next 60 days brings! I hope you will join me!
