I want to talk the word “DIET”. I use that word because I consider what we eat everyday our daily diet. I am not using the word diet to mean we all need to jump on the latest fade or not eat anything. It’s not the no carb diet, it’s not the high protein diet, it’s not the veggie only diet, should we go on? The word diet does not mean restricting your calories to nothing.
The term diet from now on is going to mean your healthy choice meals that you do everyday. Remember that improving your health includes good nutrition and physical activity. Good nutrition means eating right. This diet is a lifestyle change. We need to learn to eat clean. Eating clean will mean eating right. This is my definition of DIET. It will not be to restrict calories to nothing, it will not mean giving everything up, it just means making the right choices.
I will discuss eating clean at a later date. I will also discuss the importance of cheat days. If you have questions in the mean time, email me or stop by my home on the message boards. I’m sure that we will always be talking about eating clean since that is so important to meet our goals!

Hey Heather! Love the blog!
I agree completely with your statements on "diet" instead of "a diet." It does not mean starving yourself, it means healthy eating! I think that little "a" makes all the difference.
When I first started on this journey back in October, people used to question my healthier food choices and I'd answer "I'm on a diet." Saying "I'm on a diet" sounds so negative and short-term. I've now changed my response and I now say "I'm eating healthy now." I think it really says something about the fact that this journey is a lifestyle change not just a fad!
Keep the good thoughts coming, I've added this to my daily "must reads." :D
Thanks Mandy,
Even my husband goes, I don't know what you eat on your diet anymore. Like it's a big negative.
I always come back and say, honey- it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change and we just are not going to eat crap anymore!
That's exactly what I tell Matt (the BF), we are NOT eating the junk any more!
Mandy- don't you love just telling the BF- This is how it is!!! Mine just shakes his head and goes OK!
